Our Ship-To-School program covers all 48 contiguous states. If you would like to ship your belongings internationally, please contact us at info@DormRoomMovers.com and a representative will be in contact with you shortly.
How does your Ship-To-School service work? back to top
Simply create an account by clicking 'sign up' or log into your existing Dorm Room Movers account and choose 'Ship to School' under 'add a service'. This is where you will be able to receive a quote for shipping as well as view any additional add-ons available for your school. Once you decide to use the service, just proceed to the registration page to complete your order and have your free supply kit shipped to your home. Once you have your schools shipping address and move-in day entered into your profile, you will be able to print your shipping labels and schedule your pickup with UPS from your service profile page.

Just log into your existing Summer Storage service profile, and choose 'edit Ship-To-School' in your dashboard. You will be taken to your 'Ship-To-School' section of your current Summer Storage order where you will find instruction on how to proceed to have your newly shipped items delivered with your current items in storage.
Can I sign up for Ship-To-School only, without using your storage program? back to top
Yes. Just click 'sign up' anywhere on our website and proceed though the initial signup process. If you have created a profile with Dorm Room Movers in the past, just choose 'my account' at the top right of any page and log in with your existing credentials. Once signed up and in your account, you will be able to 'add a service'. Simply choose 'Ship-To-School' and you will see it has now been added to your account for further review.
What is the latest date I can still order your service? back to top
There is no deadline for ordering our Ship-To-School service. Please keep in mind: supply kits can take up to 5 business days to arrive to your home, and packages being shipped can take up to 5 business days to arrive to school.

Each Dorm Room Movers supplied box you ship will be insured for up to $100 by UPS. Pick up and Delivery
I need to make a last minute change to my scheduled UPS pick up, what should I do? back to top
Resheduling or making changes to your UPS pickup after you have printed your labels, will require a $30 change notice fee. Just send an email to info@DormRoomMovers.com and a representative will make the needed changes requested.
When do I need to know my pick up date? back to top
Once registered, you will enter your desired day of move-in at school. Our system will then recommend the best day to have your belongings picked up from you based on the time it takes to ship to your school. We recommend scheduling your pick up online at least 7 business days prior to move-in.

Your pickup time will lock once you schedule it and press continue. If you would like to change it, just email info@DormRoomMovers.com and a representative will contact you shortly. Note: a $30 pickup rescheduling fee may apply.

Yes, on campuses where we provide Summer Storage services we offer a 'valet delivery' option, which includes up to 2 weeks of storage and delivery directly to your room when you arrive to school. Please click here to view schools where 'valet delivery' is available.
I missed my UPS pickup, how do I reschedule? back to top
Email info@dormroommovers.com with requested date and minimum 1 hour window between 9AM and 6PM. Please note that a $30 rescheduling fee will apply for each missed pick-up.

Once you are registered and have entered in your shipping information, you will be able to schedule a pickup with UPS from your service profile for any day Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm.
What if my school post office is not open or accepting packages prior to move-in? back to top
This is why you hired Dorm Room Movers! Just make sure to enter your date of move-in when your school will start accepting packages, and we will specially coordinate with UPS to ensure your belongings are not delivered until that day! Also, at available schools, you have the option of upgrading to our 'valet delivery' which includes 2 weeks of storage and hand delivery to your dorm once you arrive to campus. We highly recommend finding out what your schools mailroom policy is for accepting packages at move-in. Dorm Room Movers will not be responsible if your mailroom does not accept your packages on your selected day of delivery.
Preparation
How should I label my boxes for shipping? back to top
Once you have printed your shipping labels, tape one shipping label to the top of each box you want to ship. Tape should be placed around the edges of the shipping label, and should not cover the barcodes on your labels. Make sure to dispose of any unused or duplicate shipping labels. Only one package will ship per unique label assigned to you.
How should I prepare my boxes for shipping? back to top
Packing your boxes with care will ensure they make it to your final destination on time and damage free.
- Make sure your packages do not exceed 50lbs and that you have distributed the weight evenly.
- Fragile items should be separated from each other, and from the corners, sides, top, and bottom of the box.
- Use recommended internal protection materials to safeguard your belongings.
- Recommended Materials: bubble wrap, packing peanuts, inflatable packaging and foam enclosures.
- Non-recommended Materials: clothing, blankets, towels, newspaper/newsprint, and pillows.
- Avoid packing valuables and perishables, such as: cash, jewelry liquids, food, candles or toiletries.
- Close your box securely by applying three strips of the provided packing tape to both the top and bottom of the box, so the three edge seams are tightly sealed.

Our package pricing (quoted by clicking here) allows for up to 50 pounds per Dorm Room Movers box being shipped.
- Boxes in excess of 50 pounds but less than or equal to 150 pounds are subject to an overweight fee of $3 per pound.
- TIP: Concerned your box may be overweight? Simply step on a scale and note your weight, then pick up your box and step back on the scale. You should now be able to estimate the weight of your box with a little math.
What if I don't know my college address yet? back to top
Not a problem! All you need to get started is your home address and what school you will be attending. Once you have your on or off campus address just log into your service profile and fill in your delivery location. You will not be able to schedule your pick up or print your shipping labels until you have entered this information.
What should I do if I purchase a TV or electronic item that it doesn't fit in your boxes? back to top
Electronics should be boxed in their original packaging and fit inside our boxes if possible. If the item doesn't fit in our boxes, simply email the weight and dimensions( Length , Width & Height) to info@dormroommovers.com and we will send you a label for it. Please note that additional freight charges will apply. For electronic items its preferred that you use the original packaging but if it's not available please refer to the UPS packing tips website to ensure that your items are insured http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/service/claims/hlp/preventing.html
What if my stuff doesn't fit in boxes? back to top
The labels provided to you with your registration are for our Dorm Room Movers signature boxes that we provide to you. If you need to ship a larger boxed item contact info@dormroommovers and include the weight and dimensions of the box (length x width x height). Only Dorm Room Movers supplied boxes are allowed to be shipped through our service.

Depending on your day of 'Move-in' at school, you will first select your desired day of 'delivery'. Once selected our system will offer recommended dates for you to choose from to schedule a pick up from your home.

What is the refer a friend program? back to top
If you are a already a customer you can save $10 per referred person that uses our service. All they have to do is enter your 'referral code' found at the bottom of your service account as their coupon code and they save $6.60 on their first box while you save $10 from your order. You'll save $10 on your order for each referral that uses our service. So you could actually have all your stuff shipped FOR FREE!

A coupon code can be used to receive discounts on any of our services and vary based on what specific marketing material it was obtained from.

What form of payment do you accept? Can I pay in cash or checks? back to top
We accept most forms of credit and debit cards but unfortunately we are unable to accept cash, checks or money order transactions. This way we can make sure that your payment is processed correctly and applied directly to your account. We never store your credit card information for additional billing, but we will process the remaining charges based on the previous transaction number through PayPal.

We understand travel plans can change. Your order is fully refundable up until your supply kits ships. Once your supply kit has shipped, $50 of your initial payment will remain as a non refundable.
How much does Ship-To-School cost? How do I pay? back to top
To receive an estimate, just click here and make a free sign up. Once in your account, add 'Ship-To-School' as your service and proceed to our quoting system. Our standard 5 box-shipping package starts as low as $100 and shipping pricing will be based on the zip codes of where you are shipping from and to, as well as the weight and size of your boxes. All orders will include free shipping supplies and a free UPS pick up from your house. Once you have decided to use the service, just click on the register now button on the bottom of your quote page to pay for your Ship-To-School package and have us send you your supplies.
When will I be billed? back to top
Upon registering for your ship-to-school service, you will pay in full for your entire shipping service. If you decide to add additional items or select a 'valet delivery', your new charges will be automatically billed to the same card you had made your initial registration payment with.
How much does it cost to upgrade my service to 'valet delivery'? back to top
Schools where 'valet delivery' is available will show an option in your service profile to upgrade for an additional $149. This upgrade includes up to 2 weeks of storage and hand delivery directly to your room when you arrive to school.

Dorm Room Movers works with UPS to provide shipping for your items. Each Item must be boxed in order to be shipped. If you can fit it in a box, we can ship it.

Absolutely! Just proceed with the sign up and registration process, and enter your off campus address in the delivery section of your service profile.

Customers using our Ship-To-School program may only ship Dorm Room Movers supplied boxes.
- Our shipping supply kits are FREE and include 5 boxes and tape in each, so no need to worry about finding your own shipping supplies!

Do I have to ship all 5 boxes, what if I am sending less? back to top
Our Ship-To-School packages are available in multiples of 5 boxes, and are all-inclusive for up to 5 boxes shipped. You are not required to ship all 5 boxes in your package, simply tear up and dispose of any unused shipping labels.

Sure! Electronics must be boxed in their original packaging to be shipped, and can be added on to your account as an additional item to your selected package. Note: Additional fees apply for customer added items.

Once your items have shipped, simply log into your service profile and you will see your tracking numbers available for each package.

Some items that cannot be shipped are: cash, coins, jewelry, and collectible items of intangible or indefinable value. For a full list of appropriate items for shipping please refer to ups.com/terms. Supplies
What if I do NOT use all the boxes from the supply kit? back to top
Once you have made your registration payment, Dorm Room Movers will your deliver a supply kit to you. The boxes are yours to do with as you wish, you do not need to ship all the boxes with us, however package pricing will stay the same. If you dont use all of your boxes you can simply give them to your friends if they need any or you can make some cash and recycle them by selling them on BoxCycle.com.

Our complimentary supply kit includes five (5) double walled 4 cubic foot boxes (18' x 18' x 22') as well as packing tips and a roll of tape. Kits are shipped to you via UPS and may take up to 7 business days to arrive.

Definitely! Just send an email to info@DormRoomMovers.com with your request. Additional supply kits come in sets of 5 boxes each.
Valet Delivery
Which items are not covered by insurance for 'Valet Delivery'? back to top
Items that are not covered by Dorm Room Movers are: cash, coins, jewelry, and collectible items of intangible or indefinable value. Extremely fragile items (e.g. glass, mirrors, etc.). Damage to electronic equipment if not packed in its original manufacturer supplied packaging. Inadequately packed items un-packaged items, including furniture that is not wrapped and protected. Damage caused to assembled furniture and particle board. Please reference the Terms & Conditions by clicking the link at the bottom of every page.
How do I submit a claim for 'Valet Delivery'? back to top
Customer must report missing items and damage to the movers at the time of delivery and have them annotate in the delivery contract that damage occurred. If this has not been completed the claim may be subject to rejection or partial payment. Customer must email to claims@dormroommovers.com photographs of damage along with estimated value of the item that was damaged. Dorm Room Movers will issue a response or credit within 30 days. In the case that the Customer is not present during the delivery, the condition as noted on the contract will define the existence and extent of the loss or damage. All damaged items must be inspected by a Dorm Room Movers representative upon delivery in order to properly inspect and assess the damage. All missing items must be reported by the customer at the time of delivery, noted on the delivery receipt and signed by the Dorm Room Movers representative. Claims not completed within 10 days from the scheduled delivery time will be considered waived. First make sure to view our exclusions on what you can make a claim for.

Changes to your delivery either to or from a date that is within 48 hours of your move will require a $30 late notice fee due to the special processing required to re-route our teams. To avoid this, try to have an alternate contact available. Please note: if you are changing from today to tomorrow, once selection has been made in your account you will recieve confirmation for tomorrow from your mover as soon as they are available.

If you will not be available during the entire time slot we suggest that you coordinate with a friend to be present, or select a different date. This way you will avoid missing your scheduled time and the resulting rescheduling fee. If you are having a friend sign for your pickup/delivery, please ensure that they understand which items you are having shipped, and are available for the entire delivery window provided to you for your move. You must also enter your friend's name and phone number online in your profile under alternate contact.

Register online and Dorm Room Movers will send you a supply kit to your home. Pack your belongings inside the boxes securely, and ship them to our warehouse. We will recieve the items, store them for up to two weeks, and deliver them when and where you need them once you arrive to school.
What happens if I need to ship my items early? Can Dorm Room Movers hold my things for longer then 2 weeks? back to top
Your Ship to School service with the 'Valet Delivery' upgrade includes 2 weeks of storage prior to your delivery. Simply schedule your pickup at an earlier date and we will hold on to your items when we receive them at the warehouse. If you need us to hold onto your things for longer while you travel to school its not a problem! You can store up to 10 items for only $35 per additional week in our climate controlled warehouse, and have it delivered as scheduled when you get to school in the fall.
