4 Ways to Stay Warm in Your Dorm

The weather at this time of the year can get pretty chilly. We know that all you want to do is curl up in a ball with Netflix, but sometimes that’s just not enough to stay warm in the winter weather. Here are a few tips on how you can stay warm in your dorm this season…

#1 Pocket warmers This one goes for your dorm and all over campus. If you have gloves and layers on but it’s still just not enough, try using hand warmers for inside your pockets or gloves.

#2 Space heater This one is a touchy subject because most dorms won’t allow space heaters for safety reasons. Make sure to check with your RA on the guidelines before going out and buying one. If they are allowed, go for it! They will make a HUGE difference in your room.

#3 Heated blanketsThis could also be on your list of “no-no’s” for your dorm, but a heated blanket may just be your live savor of the season if they are allowed. Sleeping in cold weather, especially when you don’t have control over the temperature in your room, can be extremely uncomfortable but a heated blanket will allow you to sleep more soundly at night.

#4 The little things- Aside from buying products that physically heat your body up, you can try other smaller things to stay warm. This includes layering up your clothes or pajamas, buying a thicker blanket or fleece sheets and drinking warm soups, teas and coffees.
