So you will store my stuff for the summer?  How does that work?

    You sign up and complete your registration and let Dorm Room Movers do all the work.  We deliver supplies to you, all you need to do is pack them and wait for the pre-arranged date for pickup.  In the Fall we deliver all your stuff straight to your door! 

What comes in a supply kit?

Registered customers will receive a supply kit which includes 5 double walled, 4 cubic foot boxes and a roll of tape. Kits are shipped to you via UPS and may take up to 10 business days to arrive and are not shipped out before 3/1 of your service year.

What if I don’t use the boxes that you send me for storage?  Can I return them?

    Once you have registered, Dorm Room Movers will deliver a complementary supply kit to you. Since your first supply kit is free, if you dont use all of your boxes you can simply give them to your friends if they need any or you can make some cash and sell them on BoxCycle.com. If you have ordered an additional supply kit, we will not be able to refund any amount if boxes are not used.

Who does Dorm Room Movers hire for their shipping and storage labor?

    We carefully screen our professional and responsible movers to ensure you and your items are treated with care. All of the items are stored in secure, climate controlled warehouses.

What if I can’t make the arranged dates for pick-up or delivery?  Am I just out of luck?

    Dorm Room Movers sets dates that correspond with your university’s move out schedule.  If you are unable to be present for our scheduled dates, contact our customer service and we will do our best to suit your schedule. 

Can I store my computer?  What about my TV and other electronics?

    Our climate-controlled warehouses are capable of safely storing electronics. All electronics must be packaged in their original packaging to be covered under our insurance.

What do I do with large items, like a bicycle or futon?

    Large items such as bicycles, futons or lamps can be left out of boxes. They will be labeled by our movers for tracking.  See Packing Tips for more information on how to prepare these items for storage. 

Is there anything that I can’t store with Dorm Room Movers?

    Dorm Room Movers does not allow storing of cash, jewelry, illegal substances or paraphernalia, or hazardous materials.  Please see our terms for complete information on Dorm Room Movers' storage policies. 

Can I Access my belongings over summer?

    In order to optimize the space of our storage facilities, items are tightly and safely packed. If you anticipate the need to have your items delivered outside of our delivery window, simply notify your movers at pickup and for $50 they can be delivered to you when you need them. The movers must be informed during the pickup to take advantage of this pricing. If the movers are not informed, early access througout the summer requires notification 7 days prior and may be subject to $150 fee.
