Terms and Conditions
Upon registration and submission of deposits for our services, each customer acknowledges and accepts the terms and conditions of service as listed below.
Registration Information
Upon registration for our services, a small amount of personally identifying information is necessary to be used for business purposes. Registration information may include name, address, phone number, email address and other personally identifiable information and will be used only to better enhance the services offered to our customers. Contact information may be used to provide updates about our services to the user.
Credit Card Information
Credit card information will be processed through PayPal. DRM will not store card numbers, expiration dates or card verification numbers.
Privacy Policy
Dorm Room Movers fully understands the value of our customers and online visitors’ privacy rights and is fully committed to the safe keeping of any and all collected information. By collecting and storing information, we are able to better meet the ever changing demands of our customer base in the most efficient manner possible.
Information that might be personally identifying such as customer names, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, residence or any other information that might be personally identifying is only collected voluntarily upon use and registration of our service. We will use this information only to continue to benefit our customers with further information regarding Dorm Room Movers and other services that may enhance your moving experience with our company.
We collect this information only for business purposes and to better enhance our customers service experience. Any personally identifiable information that is requested from Dorm Room Movers is not to be shared or sold to any third parties. Upon registration and use of our services, you are sharing information only with Dorm Room Movers, its affiliates and vendors, unless otherwise stated.
Delivery:
The customer agrees and acknowledges that DRM will not be held liable to for damage or loss of belongings post delivery by DRM. Should the Customer not be present during the scheduled delivery period, DRM representative will leave the belongings outside the residence and DRM’s liability for the items will terminate.
In the case that the customer is not present on delivery, the signature of the DRM representative will indicate that the items were delivered in acceptable condition. Delivery included in “all inclusive” pricing must be within a 5 mile radius of the campus at which the items were picked up. Delivery outside of said 5 mile radius from campus will be subject to a fee as indicated in the pricing section.
Storage:
Storage with DRM will include pickup, storage and delivery of the Customer’s belongings to a destination within a 5 mile radius of the campus at which the items are picked up at. The items will be stored at a climate controlled facility selected at the sole discretion of DRM
A climate controlled storage facility is defined as a storage facility that maintains a safe temperature for the storage of your possessions and that the facility is effectively ventilated. This does not mean the storage facility is air-conditioned.
The customer agrees to be present at the specified delivery location during the selected time and date in order to receive and sign for the items.
The customer acknowledges that access to their possessions being stored will be permitted only upon payment of the fee as noted within the pricing section with notice at least 7 days preceding. Delivery of stored items outside of the predetermined delivery window will also be subject to a fee as noted in the pricing section.
Changes to the previously determined delivery schedule, or location must be communicated to DRM at least two weeks (14 days) prior to the earlier date between the original delivery date and the modified delivery date. Modification may be subject to fees per the pricing section.
Storage period
Maximum storage period included in pricing for each item is four (4) months. Should this time be exceeded, an additional charge will be applied in the amount of the current price for said item at that period of time for an additional four (4) month storage period. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide a delivery location two (2) weeks prior to the redelivery date. In the case that this is not supplied within the required time and no other arrangements are made with DRM for delivery, pickup or shipping of the item at additional fee, the items will be considered abandoned. DRM reserves the right to assume ownership of any abandoned items on August 30th of the customer’s service year in the case of summer storage.
Shipping
DRM shall act only as an intermediary for the receipt and forwarding of the Customer’s shipped packages to the DRM designated shipping carrier (“Shipping Carrier”). The Customer agrees to complete the ship to information correctly within the DRM website and indicate to the DRM representative at the time of pickup which items are to be shipped. DRM will transport the items to the Shipping Carrier and process the payment for the shipment to the credit card on file with DRM. A 3% credit card processing fee will be applied to the freight charges.
Customer acknowledges that they must review and abide by terms as listed on the shipping Carrier’s website. Customer agrees to indemnify DRM in the case that any of these terms are violated.
Car storage
Customer acknowledges that DRM does handle any aspect of car storage and all liability is released from DRM. Customer understands that the car as dropped off by the customer at the storage facility may not contain any hazardous or illegal items within it. Customer agrees to assume all liability and indemnify DRM for any and all damage inflicted by the vehicle or its contents unto any other items or equipment at any time.
Move In
DRM shall accept items to its warehouse as shipped by the Customer that has enrolled in the Ship to School service. DRM will inspect the received packages for exterior damage sustained during the shipment to the warehouse however DRM will not be held responsible for damages sustained during shipment.
Restricted Items
By using the services provided by DRM you agree not to pack any firearms, hazardous or illegal materials as defined by any federal, state, provincial, or local government in the U.S, within any of your items. Liquid items or other items that may impose a risk to Customer’s or others’ belongings may not be stored or shipped. In addition Cash, jewelry and collectables may not be packed or stored. In the case that such stated items are packed within a customers belongings, all liability is assumed by the customer. The Customer accepts full responsibility and liability for any damages or losses that result from the Customer's failure to adhere to these service restrictions and agrees to indemnify DRM for any related damages or liability. DRM reserves the right to refuse storage of any item its representatives deem illegal, hazardous, and or may damage equipment or other items stored. DRM reserves the right to open and inspect any package remitted to it for storage or shipping as DRM or any of its agents or representatives deem necessary.
Packing of the items
The customer acknowledges reading and accepting the packing tips as listed on the DRM website. The Customer agrees that the packing of their belongings is the sole responsibility of the customer.
Pricing
Pricing for all services shall be in accordance with the price list contained within the DRM website. Prices listed are per each storage period as defined as summer, fall semester or spring semester. In addition to the prices, various fees may apply as described in this section. DRM will charge and the Customer agrees to pay any of the fees that apply to said customer. The intention for these fees is to recompense DRM for its additional expenses incurred as a result of the deviation from the standard procedures and practices of the services.
Peak Time Pickup: There are a limited amount of standard moves per pickup time slot. Students that select their time slot after this number has been met will be assessed a $30 peak time fee.
Peak Time Delivery - There is limited capacity per delivery date. Customers that select their delivery date after this number has been reached will be assessed a $30 peak time fee.
Out of window pickup – Pickup outside of the scheduled pickup dates and times will result in a $50 fee per student.
Out of window delivery:
- Pre-scheduled prior to pick up of items: $50 per student.
- Not scheduled prior to pick up of items/On demand: $150 per student.
Overweight items - Items over 65 lbs may be subject to a surcharge in the amount of 50% of the item list price.
Off-Campus pickup for storage – Customer will pay $50 unless dropped off by student at an on campus pickup location.
Pick up cancellation/rescheduling - Customer will pay $30 per rescheduling if notice is not given at least 48 hours prior.
Delivery cancellation/rescheduling –$30 if delivery address and/or date are not selected in your online profile or are modified after within 48 hours prior to the original or new delivery date.
Distant Delivery – Customer will pay $10 per mile if delivery destination is outside of 5 mile radius from your campus.
Promotional prices All promotional discounts apply only to the list price of your selected services. Discounts do not apply to any additional fees.
Payment:
All deposits made are refundable only up until March 1st of their service year. Deposits made will be put toward services provided by DRM. Should the customer elect not to use services provided by DRM, the deposit will be forfeited.
Upon submission of the deposit the Customer agrees to allow DRM to process the remainder of the payment for services rendered to the credit card on file without prior notification. The balance including charges for the items stored and any up front fees will be processed upon pickup of the items. Any remaining charges or fees pertaining to the storage or delivery of the items may be processed upon pickup, throughout the storage period as well as after the items have been delivered.
DRM does not accept payments in the form of checks or cash and such payments should not be given to any DRM representative under any situation or circumstance.
In the event that incorrect credit card information is given or any other reason that may inhibit DRM to process payment, the customer acknowledges that they remain indebted to DRM until the balance due is submitted by the Customer and received by DRM. Should the Customer fail to pay the remaining balance, DRM reserves the right to retain said Customers items until full payment is received. Customer understands and acknowledges that delayed payments may cause the delay of delivery as well as assessment of further fees due to rescheduling.
Balances that are unable to be collected and are not paid within the storage period may result in the holding of the students items as collateral until payment and furthermore auction of the abandoned items.
Supply Distribution
DRM will offer box kits for ordering directly from our website. Box kits will be shipped via UPS to the customer upon ordering of the service. Distribution of the box kits in the above state method may take up to 14 days. DRM will not be held responsible if box kits do not arrive in time for pickup. The Customer is responsible for obtaining the proper packing supplies and boxes prior to their selected pickup date and time.
Insurance:
DRM agrees to protect each packaged item moved and stored up to the amount of $100. For unboxed items DRM limits their liability to $0.60 per pound moved and stored with a maximum of $100. Customer agrees that the released value of each package is no greater than $100 and that DRM’s liability on said package is restricted to $100.
The insurance for stored items provides coverage against damage or loss of the Customer's stored packages. The insurance does not cover:

Items of intangible or indefinable value. |

Extremely fragile items (e.g. Glass, mirrors, etc.). |

Damage to electronic equipment if not packed in its original manufacturer supplied packaging container and there is no evidence of physical damage or breakage to its packaging container. |
6. |
Inadequately packed items. |
7. |
Concealed and or internal damage. |
8. |
Unpackaged items, including furniture that is not wrapped and protected. |
9. |
Minor damage caused by normal handling (including, but not limited to scratches, nicks, & cuts). |
10. |
Damage to outer storage containers (e.g. plastic totes, suitcases, trunks, etc.) |
11. |
Damage due to natural disasters, acts of terror, acts of warfare, or acts of God. |
12. |
Damage caused to assembled furniture and particle board. |
13. |
Loss or damages occurring while the items are not in the possession of DRM. |

Damaged packages or items must have clear indications of physical damage to the exterior. DRM will not be held liable for internal damage that is concealed within its outer packaging.
DRM’s maximum liability for loss, damage, expense or cost incurred are expressly limited by the terms listed within this agreement and are limited only to the limited storage period during which the Customers possessions are in the custody of DRM.
For items that are being shipped, reference the shipping carrier’s website for their insurance stipulations.
The Customer acknowledges that they are liable for any damage their storage contents may inflict on the property of others.
Insurance Claims
The customer acknowledges that they must claim report any lost or damage items within 24 hours of delivery.
In the case of damaged packages, all damaged cartons must be inspected by a DRM representative upon delivery in order to properly inspect and assess the damage. In the case of loss of the Customers item, the Customer agrees to notify the DRM representative upon delivery of the other items. The missing items must be noted on the delivery receipt and signed by the DRM representative.
In the case that the Customer is not present during the delivery, the condition as noted on the contract will define the existence and extent of the loss or damage.
Claims not filed within 10 days post the scheduled delivery time will be considered waived. All completed claims will be processed by DRM and a response issued within 30 days from their receipt. Upon approval of the claim, DRM will disburse the lesser of the following amounts:
1. The cost of reasonably restoring the item to its original condition:
2. The actual replacement value of the item.
3. For unboxed items: $0.60 per pound moved and stored.
4. $100 as covered with the included insurance and limitations.
Regarding Shipping services, it is hereby explicitly agreed that DRM shall have no liability if any claim is denied or partially paid by the Shipping Carrier or its insurance carrier.
Independent contractors
DRM utilizes independent contractors and vendors to perform its services. The Customer recognizes the use of these parties and understands that the Customer has no contractual agreement with any of these parties.
Affiliation
Dorm Room Movers is a privately owned limited liability company and is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by any university.
Arizona Law
Dorm Room Movers, LLC was founded and controlled in Tempe, Arizona. As such, the laws of the great state of Arizona will govern any and all applicable areas of our services. DRM reserves the right to make changes to their policy and terms and conditions at any time under the stipulated state laws and statutes.
Policy and Compliance
Upon registering for Dorm Room Movers or any of its services, customers acknowledge and accept the above stated policies. Terms and conditions, prices and promotions are subject to change without notice.
